The Kilgore Half, also known as The Run for the Deployed, is a heartfelt tradition born from a soldier's commitment to run a half marathon while deployed on Christmas Eve. What began as a small, personal tribute in 2009 has blossomed into a widespread community event with contingents across the country, from Oklahoma to Washington, Virginia, and Oregon. This grassroots gathering celebrates service members and their sacrifices through the simple, powerful act of running together.
